What is the purpose behind the construction of this web site?

To build a web site and publish it to the web is already a fact to be considered a big responsibility, but not everyone see it this way.

My web site was build with the purpose to entertain kids and actually help them with their home work (entertainment), questions, and to take care of parents concerns about what their kids have done in school today.

The truth is that parents trust their kid’s education in our hands, and we as educators have to appreciate this obligation. More than an obligation, this is our mission to educate kids for lifelong learning, not just to get a passing grade.

When we as teachers decide to provide online sources, which kids will easily be able to access, we are taking in our hands the responsibility to display a specific video, song and stories that will in fact be educational.

Nowadays it is easy to find many websites that provides all kinds of information that are not educational. We might even call it “junk”; nevertheless, I find it very important that all the information being provided by me, at this web site, are accurate and essentially educational for my students.

Another important point that must be mentioned here is the importance of copyright information. This is a lesson for my students as well. Always remember that what was not created or written by yourself, does not belong to you, therefore, it is very important to give credit to the person or web site that the information came from. Alright?!

Personal student’s information is not going to be displayed at this web site. Information from students belongs only to the teacher and parents, it is very important to take care of our privacy.

To conclude, the purpose if this web site is based on the fact that all kinds of students, visuals, audiles and tactile are able to find accurate information, which will help them to understand what is being covered in class. So, let’s make sure that all kids, parents and educators have the possibility to have fun and enjoy all the information selected here!
